§
He calls
attention to the article he sent previously by Bishop Trautman.
Translation is not as fluent as the one we are using now; it strives for
word for word translation from the Latin Mass. The Pope has approved it
but in South Africa where it has already been tried, the people did not
receive it well. The language is described as the sacred vernacular
versus the colloquial vernacular. It will be difficult to implement,
especially in a parish like ours which hosts thousands of visitors from
many different dioceses.
The next meeting is set for Tuesday, June 8, at 5:15PM. The new budget
will be discussed and recommendations will be made to the Finance
Council which is set to meet at 6PM on the same evening.
Closing Prayer
Fr. Bill offered thanks and a closing prayer, and the meeting was
adjourned at 6:07 |
